Millrace Books celebrated 35 years in Stephen Hart’s historic Grist Mill with a benefit dinner that raised over $5000.00 to help build The Hope Day Elementary School in Freetown, Sierra Leone. It opened April 2007.
Our goal is to encourage you to ‘think Farmington first.’ You have only to leave Farmington for awhile and come back again to realize how fortunate we are to live in this community where the grass is greener, the quality of life better and the possibilities of service greater.
As Farmington’s only independent bookstore, Millrace Books has been an integral part of the lifeblood of the community, launching many local authors and honoring nationally proclaimed poets and writers, often co-sponsoring events with local organizations. In our rapidly changing world, the ability to balance innovation with continuity and customer-focused service is more important than ever.
